About Us

Ashby Computer Services was formed in 1987 by experienced computer engineers Brian Davies and Peter Taylor, and then three years later they were joined by Steve Collis. 

Initially, the business started as a cabling company installing cabling systems such as IBM, Ericson, and ICL.  At that time every major company had their own cabling system and specialist cabling help was required.  However, eventually nearly all cabling became Ethernet which was adopted as the industry standard employed by all businesses. We too adopted Ethernet cabling for our customers which we still install today in companies, offices, factories, schools and homes.

Following the standardisation of cabling, we decided to diversify our business activities, so we began repairing and maintaining computers for companies and individuals, and then started to make and sell our own along with other peripherals. 

By 2000 we had added supplying, installing and maintaining server systems to our portfolio, and today we are a Microsoft Gold Partner.  And we started a specialist audio visual department working principally with many schools supplying and installing audio visual equipment including screens, interactive whiteboards and projectors.
